Wolcott History – South East Burying Ground

This is the third in a series about the cemeteries of Wolcott.  This is a relatively small cemetery off County Road near the Southington Reservoir. There are fewer than 60 graves here, many of them now unreadable. There are six graves erroneously listed here in findagrave.com (2 Alcox, 3 Blakeslee, 1 Brackitt). These are duplicate entries of the six graves still located in the Pike’s Hill Cemetery.

There are two other cemeteries in Wolcott, the Woodtick Cemetery off of Woodtick Road and the Edgewood Cemetery near the center. However, since these cemeteries have some 900+ and 1500+ gravesites respectively, they would require too much time to investigate all the persons buried there.
